The delegation from the city of Yatta in Palestine, including Yatta Municipal Council Members Abdalkarim T. H. Shreiteh and Osama Omar Mohammad Aljboor, visited Mayor Tunç Soyer at the Sovereignty House in Izmir. In addition to expressing hopes for ending the ongoing conflict in the region and establishing a peaceful environment, discussions also focused on potential collaborative efforts in the context of the peace climate. Mayor Tunç Soyer expressed the readiness of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to provide support.

Soyer: "This visit is very important to us"
Mayor Tunç Soyer of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality expressed his sentiments regarding the visit, saying, "Since the beginning of the Gaza attack, our minds and hearts have been there. We are deeply saddened. A great shame and immense pain are being experienced by humanity, and we are aware of that. Therefore, we want to do whatever is in our power to alleviate the pain our brothers are going through. We believe in the triumph of reason and peace globally. We believe that the sufferings will come to an end. We have learned that we need to strengthen the bonds between us so that such things do not happen again. We need to strengthen the relationship between cities so that the connection between our peoples becomes stronger. As far as I know, Yatta is a mountainous region, and there is a need for serious city planning there. Infrastructure-related work is required. We, as Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, would like to support in all these areas. We want to make efforts to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between us as soon as possible after the arrival of peace. This visit is very precious to us," he said.

Shreiteh: "We will consult with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality"
Abdalkarim T. H. Shreiteh, a member of the Yatta Municipality Council in Palestine, stated, "Unfortunately, our Mayor Saleh Abdallah Saleh Awad could not be with us today, but he conveys his sincere thanks and respects for your invitation. Turkey always supports the Palestinian people. From this perspective, our visit to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will have very valuable outcomes for us. There will be many topics on which we will consult with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in terms of education, experience sharing, and good practices. We always welcome you to Palestine and our city, Yatta," he said.

Osama Omar Mohammad Aljboor, a member of the Yatta Municipal Council in Palestine, added, "Our municipality was established in 1966. The current population of our city is around 120,000, and it is rapidly increasing. We stand out as the city with the youngest urban population in Palestine. We are a region of great value in terms of marble production. We have 27,000 students in 100 schools in Yatta. However, we are currently going through a very difficult period. We are facing difficulties even in the collection of garbage in the city. Developing meaningful and valuable partnerships with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will yield very beneficial results for our city."
