Since 2019, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has been renewing and creating new parks, totaling 34, in 90 locations covering 41,402 square meters to provide children with healthier and safer playing conditions.

In line with the goal of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer for a "Greener Izmir," parks and children's play areas across Izmir continue to be renewed. To ensure children can play in healthier and safer conditions, teams from the Metropolitan Municipality's Department of Parks and Gardens have completed the renovation of 41,402 square meters of children's play areas in 90 locations in 16 districts, addressing maintenance and repair needs. Additionally, 34 new parks have been opened.

In addition to creating new recreation areas and Living Parks in the city center of Izmir, the Metropolitan Municipality has not forgotten about rural areas. In addition to renovation works, new playgrounds have been established in many villages, ranging from Ödemiş to Beydağ, Bayındır to Menemen, Kemalpaşa to Buca Kırklar. Existing playgrounds from previous years have also been replaced with safer and more comfortable play equipment based on incoming requests.
