Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer, who visited Izmir Chamber of Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen, was welcomed with applause. Mayor Soyer said, "Make no doubt, there will be a completely different Izmir in the second term. I have always been in the kitchen until now. Now I want to give a feast in the hall. This city will host much greater beauties. We believed in this city and its beautiful people. You will see that the second term will be different."

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer visited Celil Anık, President of Izmir Chamber of Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen, and the management of the chamber. Mayor Tunç Soyer, who was welcomed with applause at the management office in Karabağlar, started his speech by thanking all the tradesmen serving the transport sector in Izmir and said, "It is a matter of pride that you welcome me here with a big crowd and come together for me. Nowhere in Türkiye is the relationship between the municipality and the chamber so good. Nowhere in Türkiye is the chamber so far ahead. The chamber has such a secretariat that it provides an extraordinary service. We will do much more, you deserve it," he said.

If we don't do it now, future generations will remember us with insults
Stating that in 5 years the city was exposed to many disasters, Mayor Soyer said, "There was a pandemic, an earthquake, the sea overflowed. In other words, we experienced great troubles and disasters, we overcame all disasters together. We mobilised Izmir residents. In the earthquake that occurred on 6 February, Izmir was again the fastest team to the scene. We did very good work under very severe conditions. Unfortunately, some of the work we have done is not visible. Our works remain underground. While 600 kilometres of rainwater canals were constructed in Izmir in 50-60 years, we constructed nearly 330 kilometres of rainwater canals in 4.5 years. This is the only thing that will stop the pollution of the Gulf. In 100 years, we dug up Kemeraltı and built underground streams. Mayors usually do not want to get into infrastructure. But if we do not do these things now, future generations will remember us with insults."

Now I want to give a feast in the hall
Stating that the investments of many politicians in Türkiye are about saving the day, Mayor Tunç Soyer said, "The works that have not been done for 50 years have heavy costs. We are willing to pay. We do not do make-up and populism. We are touching the wound for our children, for future generations. We believe in this country, Izmir and Izmirites. Make no mistake, there will be a completely different Izmir in the second term. The second term will be different. I have always been in the kitchen until now. Now I want to give a feast in the hall. This city will host much greater beauties. Izmir is among the 10 must-see cities in Europe. We believed in this city and its beautiful people. Izmir is so different that we can see this even with your work. Each one of you is doing this job properly. I owe it to you to bring you better service. We have brought 1 billion Euros of resources to Izmir in 5 years. We found resources that could not be found. Everything is for you."

We trusted them and they trusted us
For the past 5 years, Celil Anık, the President of the İzmir Drivers and Automotive Tradesmen Chamber, has emphasized with great importance that they have been working diligently alongside Mayor Tunç Soyer. "We are tradesmen. For anyone who takes a step towards us, we take ten steps. The relationship between the municipality and the tradesmen is unparalleled anywhere else in Türkiye. The taxi dispatch system and other matters were entrusted to us by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. We have not let the president down. We have implemented practices that will set an example for Türkiye. Many companies are willing to collaborate on the taxi dispatch system. It is not possible for us to do it alone. This can only be achieved with the authority given to us by the municipality. We trusted them, and they trusted us," he said.
